BIO
Elizabeth Kopecká ended up second in the last series of Czech and Slovak Pop Idol (Superstar) and gained the favour of many viewers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. She is characterized by a convincing vocal expression and her trademark is the interesting colour of her voice. However Elizabeth is not a complete newcomer to the music scene.
She has previously collaborated with the renowned producer Jan P. Muchow, who has become a mentor for her musical work. The definitive stepping stone in her musical career was her participation in Czech and Slovak Pop Idol. “The Pop Idol (Superstar) experience gave me a lot because it confirmed what I want to do in life and what fulfills me. I appreciate my placement in the competition because I succeeded against great singers. However, the real competition for me only starts now, when it will become clear if I have what it takes to stay in the music industry,” says Elizabeth with determination.
On the first day of the summer holidays, July 1, she officially entered the music scene already under the stage name ELIZABETH through her debut single “Summer Boyfriend” – a collaboration between two producers – Jan P. Muchow and a young, 20-year-old talented musician Prokop Korb, who performs with his own project Badfocus. The song is a musical collaboration between Elizabeth and Prokop, and insightfully tells how to ideally “arrange” a relaxing summer.
The song is accompanied by a music video featuring popular Czech actor Vladimír Polívka, for whom this is the first participation in a music video. The final form of the video shows that everyone involved had a lot of fun during the filming.
The second single by Elizabeth was released in April 2023 and it’s called “Good Times”. The song was created in a very interesting international collaboration of three authors. Apart from Elizabeth herself, Good Times was co-written by Charlie Bryce Wallace, a young British producer, composer and pianist currently living in Los Angeles, and Alan Roy Scott, who has over forty years of experience in pop music as a writer, producer and mentor.
The song Good Times was born at Songwriting Camp CZ last autumn and its final version has now been prepared by Charlie Bryce Wallace as music producer. “The song is about selective memory. People often remember only the good things and forget how their former partners hurt them. So I’m singing about how I miss the good times, but I’d also like to remember my feelings back then and what it really felt to go though my heartbreak. It was my first time writing songs at a songwriting camp and I have to admit it was one of the best experiences of my career. I brought home two songs and one of them is ‘Good Times’, so I would love to go to more songwriting camps. Those who want to create something beautiful and not slack off on the craft are exactly the circle of people I want to be around,” explains the singer.
The music video was created by a mostly girl power. The idea is a joint creation of Kopecka and director Anezka Horova, who also took on the roles of director of photography and editor. Young motorcyclist Oliver König also appears in the music video of Good Times. The new song will not be absent from the forthcoming debut album, which promises varied material featuring foreign songwriters and producers as well as local music personalities.
